（財）日本音楽財団とその事業

日本音楽財団は、1974年に日本における音楽文化の普及と振興を図る目的で設立されました。創立20周年を迎えた1994年からは、西洋クラシック音楽を中心とする「音楽分野における国際交流」を事業の新たな柱とし、国際的観点による事業展開を行っております。

その事業内容としては、下記分野が上げられます。

1. ストラディヴアリウスを初めとする弦楽器名器の購入・保全、及び国際的な貸与事業

2. 内外の有名オーケストラによる質の高い演奏会支援事業

3. 音楽関係団体の行う音楽活動（演奏会、研修会、講習会等）に対する助成事業

4. 音楽関係国際ネットワークの形成事業

5. 音楽の普及・啓蒙のための調査・研究及び音楽ライブラリーの設置事業

6. 日本の伝統音楽の一つである和太鼓の普及・振興事業

日本音楽財団は、日本財団からの支援を得、これらの事業を遂行しております。

Activities of Nippon Music Foundation:

Nippon Music Foundation was established in 1974 to promote western music culture in Japan. In 1994, Nippon Music Foundation celebrated its 20th anniversary, and took that opportunity to expand its programs to include "International Exchange in Music", mainly focusing on western classics. Our activities can be divided into the following categories:

1. Acquisition and preservation of world's historical assets, such as Stradivarius string instruments, and loan them internationaly.

2. Support concerts for the internationally renowned orchestras.

3. Provide grants-in-aid to musical projects carried out by various organizations including concerts, workshops and seminars.

4. Establishment and promotion of international music network.

5. Research into various aspects of music and collection of music related materials for future library.

6. Promotion of TAIKO music, the Japanese traditional drum.

All of these activities are made possible by the generous support from The Nippon Foundation.
